So who took those photos of me on Mother’s day with the little one, all dressed up and in focus???
That was my husband, Colin.
You may be thinking, “Wow…he really knows what he’s doing with the camera!”….And don’t get me wrong, he’s pretty good…but oh if you could be there as a fly on the wall in the air. There may or may not be a lot of cursing that goes on.
I think it’s important that we get photos of me and little Izzy-Rae. I have about 6 photos of me and my mother from my childhood because she was the one behind the camera all the time. I cherish those photos and wish she would’ve thought to take more of herself. I love seeing what she looked like when we were kids. I also have a terrible memory and therefore depend on photos to help me piece together the years of my life. I can’t even remember the guy’s name that I saw today at the grocery store…you know the store on the corner of that busy street next to that restaurant…what’s it called???
For this Mother’s Day occasion I got Colin to stand in for me while I set the camera to its proper settings. I shoot on manual and there is plenty to take into account. Once I had aperature, iso and shutter speed locked in we switched spots and I bullied him through the entire session. It was fun!….sorta…:) haha

He really is a great student to have to put up with me….
“Okay pan the camera to the right”
“Make sure you have us in focus”
“Don’t forget to frame us properly”
“See the button on the side…click it!”
“Watch out for the dog…he’s swatting at the camera strap”
“Are you taking them? What should we do? Well now I just feel silly. Tell me to smile or something”
