Balancing Act…

I am first and foremost a Mommy these days.  I sometimes need to remind myself.  That’s all that really matters.  If I can’t finish the afternoon’s laundry, or edit sessions quick enough, visit my parents, scrub the toilets and have a 4 course meal prepared by dinner every day, at least I read my little girl a story.  I’m there to put her down for her naps and the first to greet her when she awakens.   When I’m totally overwhelmed by all the unfinished ”tasks”, I have to remind myself that by being at home with my child I am accomplishing so much.  Our baby is a happy girl (on most days).  We are so lucky.  The next time I’m feeling THIS overwhelmed I will come back to this post and remind myself again…..

I can’t imagine how weird it must be for a baby to see a mirror image of themselves.  This is our little girl speaking her first little phrase “wasss tha?” ….well…kinda speaking..more like dramatic whispering…!  And if we weren’t convinced she was a Dadda’s girl, we are now….. see how excited she gets when Colin gets home from work to surprise her!
